On my trip to Japan, I got hold of this tea which is only available in Japan.
Earl Grey tea, sometimes spelled as Earl Gray, is a tea blend with a distinctive flavour and aroma derived from the addition of oil extracted from the rind of the bergamot orange, a fragrant citrus fruit.
Brand: White Noble
Company: Mitsui Norin Co.
Flavor: Earl Grey
A single package of the tea:
I used steaming water which you can see in the image:
With flash:
Flavor: Strong (You can actually taste the bergamot oil in this tea, so it has a somewhat of a oily taste)
Aroma: Strong
Steeping: 2-3 minutes (212°F / 100°C)
Try it with: a Splash of milk and lemon as it will mask the strong bergamot oil if you’re not a big fan. Which brings up a interesting question…. if you mask the bergamot oil, why drink Earl Grey?
This product is not available in the United States or anywhere else for that matter. I manage to get a hold of this while in Osaka, Japan. You may find this tea at Japanese grocer stores such as Kenko (which does do international delivery but albeit with high shipping fees).
