MAC has recently introduced MAC Sized to Go, a smaller “travel” version of certain shades and products. While most women can carry their lipglosses and mascaras in a purse without a problem, if you are carrying a bunch of items, it can create clutter. I think the travel versions are a great way to try out a new shade without paying the full price attached to it. However, is it really cheaper? and what colors are in MAC Sized to Go? Lets find out!

So as we can see, everything is $10. And overall, all the mascaras and different kind of creams, lotions and oils are all the same size (pigments are all 2.5 g / 0.9 US oz, mascaras are all 4 g / .14 US oz, creams are such are all 30 ml / 1.0 US fl oz, and the wipes are 30 sheets). Lipglosses are 2.4 g / 0.8 US oz.

Verdict: CHEAPER to get Size to Go, if you buy 2 Size to Go for $20, you get 0.18 oz instead of .15 oz
Mascaras
Mascaras: 4 g / .14 US oz for $10
full size mascaras: Varies
8 g / 0.28 US oz for $16 for Zoomlash,
9 g / 0.31 US oz for Zoomfast for $16

Verdict: Get the Full Size. Though its a dollar cheaper getting two size to go false lashes mascara, you will save $4 getting the full size zoomlash.
Tinted lipglosses:
Sized to Go lipglosses: 2.4 g / 0.8 US oz
Full Size: 4.8 g / 0.17 US oz for $15
Verdict: Get the full size.
Wipes:
30 sheets for $10
45 sheets for $20
100 sheets for $29.
Verdict: Mixed. 100 sheets wins overall, but they do dry up if you leave your sheets open or don’t use them as much. Overall, the 45 sheets now seem pointless. If you can get 60 sheets for $20 now at 2 packs of 30, why bother ever buying the 45 sheets count? The 100 sheets is pretty big and impossible to carry around. Depending on how much you use sheets, go for the 30 or 100.
All the other products such as eye makeup remover, green gel cleanser, etc
Verdict: Full size is cheaper. BUT if you have no idea how great, for example the oil control lotion, will be for your skin, its better to buy the small version than buy the full version and realize you have an allergic reaction. But once you find the product its good for you, get the full size version. Of course, this doesn’t apply if you’re traveling on the road for just a weekend and need everything to be smaller, but if you’re not commuting or traveling to much, full size is better.
Are these Air Traveling Safe? ie. TSA approved?
I checked the TSA website and overall, they all are. European Union is about 100 ml or less, while US is 3.4 oz and below, which all these products hit the mark with. Most airlines do require you to put items like this in a clear resealable bag like a ziplock bag.
Now I know that a lot of people might be saying that I am missing the point of Sized To Go since its meant for traveling and such, and that’s true. However I think Size to Go is also a great way to try out new items, especially for pigments. You can get 2 pigments and have more pigments at the end of the day (and spend less money) than just buying 1 pigment. This is great if you want to try out new shades. The only problem is that the shades ARE limited and you don’t get all the colors available. But hopefully, newer colors will be available with time!
