What makes Julep Nail Color so great?

Julep’s Hayden is described as a bright “Neon peach crème”. The bottle is very pretty; it looks sleek and expensive. The brush is even better, a long wand with long bristles. It reminds me of Chanel’s brushes more than OPI’s.
This is my first Julep purchase. I purchased it on the fact that Julep is a 4 Free formula(no DBP, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and toluene). Julep Nail Vernises are quite small. Sephora by Opi nailpolishes are 0.5 oz for about $9.50. Julep is .27fl oz (or 8ml) for $14. They are half the size of Sephora by Opi for about 50% more. That’s a HUGE price discrepancy, especially since Sephora by Opi nailpolishes exclude DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde.
I believe Julep’s intentions are to become “high end” nailpolish, especially when you look at the fancy nail polish bottles. I would say Julep is high “mid-end” since Dior’s nailpolishes (a high end brand) are $24 for 0.33 oz. In comparison to Dior, Julep is cheap. However, Julep does not have the prestige that Dior has so it must compete with mid-end nailpolish such as OPI. And OPI’s formula are consistently good overall. Because the bottles are so long, its hard to tell that Julep is half the size as OPI for significantly more money.
With all of that said, Hayden is matte rather than creme. It is a bright matte orange that reminds me of
Orange Sherbet, and it gets more “neon” or brighter looking the less light there is.
I’m on the fence about the formula. The formula allows for no mistakes. Why? because it is very non-uniform, and a bit streaky. I found myself constantly repainting to make it more uniform. It took about 2.5 coats which is A LOT considering how little nail polish you get. However, it dries incredibly FAST. I would say my nails were dry in less than 5 minutes. It is pretty and it does matte justice. The color is better for warm skin tones.
