If you are a Julep Maven from previous months, and picked It Girl for the May Monthly Boxes, you would have received Clara. Clara is a opaque peach creme nail color.

Julep’s Clara Review
Julep Clara, Retails for $14 (US)
Julep Clara is light peach creme with orange undertone, and it looks best when you’re rocking a tan (self-tanner, sun, born with bronzed skin, etc). It is a neutral shade meaning you could wear this shade irregardless if you have cool undertones or warm undertones.
This nail polish becomes opaque in just 1 coat, but I always have some trouble with Julep’s formula. You see, if there is ANY oil or lotion or ANYTHING (acetone from nail polish remover, etc) on my nails, Julep’s formula can be streaky. This doesn’t occur to me with shades like Avery, but Clara can be a hit or miss with application. When its a miss, I have to use 2 complete full coats to get the look that I want. These photos? two full coats. Otherwise the finished look is streaky or milky. Julep’s formula overall dries very quickly, so you have to be quick when finishing up a coat to avoid the streaky look. If you’re a pro, the quick drying factor is probably a huge plus. But when you are a newbie, you might have had lotion on your nails from a hour ago, and its coming out milky/streaky, application can be a nightmare.
I usually do not use a base coat with Julep, as I have yet to experience any yellowing with any of the nail colors (knock on wood), so I do not know if a base coat might improve application. Though I assume it should. Julep has its own base coat, the therapy base coat, but I have yet to test the base coat at this time.
If you’re okay that sometimes you might need more polish than other times (or for the unfortunate cases, your body chemistry is different and you will always need more polish), then this is a pretty good shade to rock out in the summer.
