Hello everyone! It has been a while since I have posted a review of nail polish. Julep Char SHOULD have been posted in August 2013 when the nail polish was first released, alas c’est la vie. Now lets get down to business:
Julep Char was originally released by Julep in August 2013 as part of their Garden Party collection. If you are a Julep Maven (monthly boxes for $19.99), and you are a It Girl, this nail polish would have arrived at your doorstep along with 2 other colors. Julep Char is a Nautical navy blue crème and its one of their better formulas. I am still very iffy on Julep still, some formulas like Char are great (applies smoothly, lasting shine), others like Martha are gooey and thick and require a nail polish thinner after 2/3 months.
All of my photos for Julep Char are taken about a day after application. I feel waiting a day after application is more of a honest portrayal since practically all nail polish look pretty after 1 hour of application.

Now if you are looking for a dupe for this particular shade, I have yet to find an exact dupe as this shade is deeper than most nautical blues. If you are looking for something a bit brighter and lighter, try Revlon Royal. My recommendation for this shade is to paint all around your edges after your nail polish has tried. This will prevent tip wear which I sometimes got with Julep Char if I forgot to go through my nail edges once again.
xoxo,
