Facetory July Box Review

Facetory is a new monthly Korean face mask subscription box. Each month has its own theme, featuring cult faves straight from Korea as well as featuring the latest trends when it comes to Korean sheet make. If you don’t know what Korean sheet masks are, they are masks made out of traditional fabrics like cotton and cellulose that contain serum for your skin. You would usually keep the mask on your face for about 30 minutes and then massage whatever remaining serum. Facetory has 2 (two) type of Korean sheet masks boxes:

FOUR-ever Fresh: ($5.95 per month + $2.95 shipping): includes 4 curated sheet masks

SEVEN LUX: ($15.95 + $3.95 shipping) includes 7 curated sheet masks, these masks are supposed to contain slightly higher-functioning ingredients (such as hydrogels).

Facetory’s FOUR-ever Fresh July Box Review

The Saem Natural Tox Apple Mask (Value $2.50)

Facetory’s Review: We’re going on a picnic! What’s a picnic without a basket of apples? This red apple mask sheet contains real apple extracts along with lycopene, polyphenol, and organic acids to cleanse and purify the skin. The essence itself not only has a familiar apple juice-like fragrance, but also works to brighten and tone up the skin.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Butylene Glycol, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Allantoin, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Sodium Polyacrylate, Fragrance

My review: I love the smell of apples on this one! This is good for brightening so if you need to balance your skin tone or have some skin discoloration, it is not a bad sheet mask.

Equportee Dual Balancing Peach/Watermelon Firming Mask (Value $2.50)

Facetory’s Review: Can’t choose between taking peaches or a watermelon to a picnic? Why not take both! This dual balancing sheet mask contains both peach and watermelon extracts so you can have the best of both worlds! Having the loveliest peach fragrance, with a hint of watermelon, this sheet mask works to condition and firm the skin for a lifted and youthful look.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit Extract, Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Morus Alba Fruit Extract, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Agastache Rugosa Extract, Prunella Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Betula Alba Bud Extract, Saururus Chinensis Extract, Ophiopogon Japonicus Root Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Polysorbate 80, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

My review: Cooling with a nice smell of peaches and watermelon. I would say this is good if you have a bit of sunburn or overheated skin, and need to cool your skin for some relief.

BaraBoni Cucumber Mask (Value $2.50)

Facetory’s Review: You can’t just take fruits to a picnic! We need to throw in some veggies! This BaraBoni Cucumber Mask will make you feel as if you are giving yourself an all natural cucumber facial. The essence has the freshest cucumber scent and also contains real cucumber extracts. The cucumber extract is dual functional in that it not only calms and refreshes the skin, but also works to provide deep moisture for especially dry skin types.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Trehalose, Panthenol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Cucumber Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

My review: Very cooling also. I read that some users had an allergic reaction to this mask. This mask contains Portulaca Oleracea extract, Portulaca Oleracea is a type of plant. It is a succulent and it is often used as garnishment in Greek salads. I did not get an allergic reaction (when I say allergic reaction, I mean redness FROM using the sheet mask).

SNP Fruits Gelato Brightening Mask (Value $2.50)

Facetory’s Review: Anyone sad that grapefruits are no longer in season? Well, here is a temporary substitute for all you grapefruit lovers! Quite possibly the best scented sheet mask we have EVER carried to date, this grapefruit sheet mask has the most crisp and fresh scent we have ever smelt! SNP takes pride in that this grapefruit sheet mask contains real grapefruit extract that was freshly squeezed before turning into an extracted essence! It also includes milk extract, which when combined with niacinamide (all within the top 6 ingredients) works to strengthen the skin’s barrier and give that soft yet polished look. So for sheet mask lovers looking to brighten dull skin with a bonus of a yummy scent, this is the perfect sheet mask for you!

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract (500mg), Nacinamide, Butylene Glycol, Milk Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Chamomila Recutita (Matricaria) Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Alcohol, Polysorbate 80, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Betaine, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Fragrance

My review: slightly brightening, and it does make your pores slightly smaller. Perfect for those who have enlarged pores!

Final Verdict: It is a good box, and factoring shipping, the box is about 10% less than face value, which is good considering that these sheet masks will be hard to source from your local beauty stores.

Facetory's July SEVEN LUX Sheet Mask Box
Facetory’s July SEVEN LUX Sheet Mask Box

Facetory’s SEVEN LUX July Box Review

July’s “SEVEN LUX” is curated (though lets be real, she probably just signed off on this box) by Youtuber @coffeebreakwithdani; Facetory nicknames this box the “Picnic with Dani” box.

The “SEVEN LUX” box, which contains 7 sheet masks contains the following:

Skinion Martini Pack, U Feel Tipsy! Mask (Value $3.50)

Facetory’s Review: What’s a picnic without some drinks! Martini anyone? Well wait till you hear all about the benefits of this martini mask! You’ll definitely be wanting to grab one! The first ingredient in this martini mask includes lime extract which works to restore moisture back into your skin. The next ingredient, green tea extract, helps to smooth out the surface of your skin and provide a soft canvas. Then top it all off, the olive extract works to add nutrients to your skin and give it that healthy glow.

Note: The sheet mask really smells like a lime martini!

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Boswellia Serrate Resin Extract, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, Allantoin, Trehalose, Betaine, Olea Europe (Olive) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Fruit Extract, Rice Ferment Filtrate (Sake), Psidium Guajava Leaf Extract, Rosa Hybrid Flower Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Salvia Officials (Sage) Leaf Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officials (Rosemary) Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Sodium Ascobyl Phosphate, Polysorbate 80, Arginine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract, Fragrance

My review: It really does smell like Martini! However I am not too keen on the lime. It is a myth that lime helps with dark spot and you should wear sunscreen after use as lime can increase the ph level in the skin. I did like the green tea and olive extract however.

Dearpacker Nourishing Bio Cellulose Mask (Value $4.50)

Facetory’s Review: Not really feeling a martini? What about a cup of tea?! This biocellulose sheet mask includes an essence made from pu’er tea which is a fermented tea produced in the Yunnan province of China. The biocellulose sheet is so thin and adheres to the skin so well that it feels like “second skin”. This helps the essence penetrate deep into the skin without the issues of a runny or drippy sheet mask. The mask itself is much longer towards the bottom half so that it can cover up to your neck (great for those wanting to care for fine lines on their neck!) The fermented pu’er tea extract helps to turn the skin into a smooth and soft surface. Overall, this sheet mask helps to provide elasticity and anti-aging functions to keep skin looking young and wrinkle free!

Note: The sheet mask has a slight herbal scent from the tea leaves that make up the majority of the essence.

Ingredients: Water, Propanediol, Dipropylene Glycol, Methyl Gluceth-20, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Betaine, Cyclopentasiloxane, Panthenol, Caellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Saccharomyces/Potato Extract Ferment Filtrate, Saccharomyces/Barley Seed Ferment Filtrate, Butyrosperimum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Simmondsia Chinenceride, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Dimethiconol, Adenosine, Hexyl Laureate, Cetearyl Alchohol, Butyelne Glycol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Dimethicone, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Trisodium EDTA, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

My Review: Just like Facetory’s Note, it smelled strongly of black tea. It is made of fermented tea, but the scent is more like black tea than Kombucha, which is the fermented tea Westerners mostly know. It improved the texture of my skin,

Leaders Insolution Coconut Water Gel Luminous Mask (Value $4.50)

Facetory’s Review: Ok… So you weren’t really feeling the martini or cup of tea. What about some coconut water?! This leaders coconut water biocellulose mask contains fermented coconut extract and sea buckthorn berry extract to improve skin tone and radiance! In addition to brightening the skin, the coconut essence increases moisture retainability and gives the skin a cooling effect to calm and maintain healthy looking skin.

Ingredients: Water, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water (30%), Methylpropanediol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polysorbate 60, Beta-Glucan, Betaine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Ecklonia Cava Extract, Artemisia Capillaris Flower Extract, Saururus Chinensis Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Fragrance, Gentiana Lutea Root Extract, Achillea Millefolium Extract, Artemisia Absinthium Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract

My review: very cooling, I like that it was made of 30% coconut water. Had a lot of excess serum which can be applied on the neck and chest.

Double & Zero Espresso Revital Ampoule Mask (Value $3.50)

Facetory’s Review: When FaceTory does a picnic collaboration with “Coffee Break with Dani”, you best believe we’d be including a coffee sheet mask! This espresso sheet mask not only smells like a sweet latte, but it also contains apple, cacao, grape, grape seed oil, and coconut oil extract. But the key ingredient is the coffee berry which has an ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) that is 90x more than an acai berry and 625x more than a blueberry! Ingredients with high ORAC ratings are powerful antioxidants which help in fighting free radicals that lead to premature aging. In addition, this mask is considered to multi-functional for its ability to help give the skin flexibility, provide anti-wrinkle care, elasticity, vitality, and concentrate on moisture retention.

Ingredients: Water, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract (1,000 ppm), Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Wine Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Copper Tripeptide-1, Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Centella Asiatica Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicatensis Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Yeast Ferment Extract, Salicornia Herbacea Extract, Phragmites Communis Extract, Glutamic Acid, Lysine HCL, Glycine, Arginine, Adenosine, Sodium Hyaluronate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, Cellulose Gum, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, lllicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

My review: It smells like coffee! There was nothing special about this sheet masks compare to the other sheet masks but it smelled just like coffee so if you are a coffee fan, it is highly recommended.

Skin’s Boni Yogurt Mask Pack (Value $3.50)

Facetory’s Review: Raise your hand if you can’t stop at drinking only one of these Korean yogurt drinks! If you’ve never tried this dessert-like drink, it is a MUST before trying this sheet mask! Only because a) it is addicting and you always end up drinking 3-4 in a row b) this sheet mask smells exactly like the drink and will leave you craving for some to try! The skin is naturally in its healthiest state when it is at a PH level of a 5.5. This sheet mask helps to balance your PH level, especially if you are using cleansers or other products that are too acidic or too alkaline. In addition, the essence contains ceramides and green tea extracts which help to add nutrients to your skin while leaving it firm and moisturized.

Ingredients: Water, Glycereth-26, glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Methylpropanediol, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Betaine, Green tea powder, Green tea extract, Caprylic/Capric Tryglycerides,Canola Oil, Trehalos, Cetearyl alcohol , Bis-PEG-18 Methylethyldimethylsilane, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Lactobacillus Ferment, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Adenosine, Butylene Glycol, Caffeine, Lecithin, Licorice Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyquaternium-51, Ceramide NP, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/ VP Copolymer, Xanthan Gurm, Carbomer , 1,2-Hexandiol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance

My review: I was a little iffy to be honest with this mask prior because for the most part consuming diary gives me acne, so I was afraid of putting dairy on my skin. However, it didn’t flare up my acne and it actually doesn’t contain dairy at all but Lactobacillus Ferment, which is a type of probiotic found in dairy/greek yogurt.

The Mochi Blue-Deep Moisture Mask (Value $4.50)

Facetory’s Review: It’s time for some dessert. Who doesn’t love taking a bite into a soft, fluffy, and steaming mochi. This mochi hydrogel mask has deep moisturizing ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid, to turn your parched skin into plush and moist (almost mochi-like) skin! The mask itself is tinted a slight blue and contains the superfood ingredient of blueberries. The blueberry extract contains both Vitamin C and Vitamin E which work to give you skin the proper nutrients it needs to look tight, healthy, and fresh faced!

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Carrageenan, Glucomannan, Dextrin, Agar, Glycereth-26, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Niacinamide, Glycrrhiza Glabra (licorice) Root Extract, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Oleth-10, Triethoxycaprylyisilane, Polysorbate 60, Simethicone, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Aluminum Hydroxide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Xanthan Gum, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Sorbitan Isostearate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Disodium EDTA, Betaine, Allantoin, Panthenol, Potassium Chloride, Carbomer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, CI 42090, CI 17200, CI 42053, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

My review: This mask was made with hydrogel and was sticky in comparison to the rest of the box. It had a really fresh scent!

H.Lab Black Truffle Aqua Mask

Facetory’s Review: Time to get a bit bougie on this picnic with some black truffle! Known as the “diamond of ingredients”, black truffle has 10,000PPM which helps with brightening, moisturizing, and providing nutrients to the skin. The black truffle mask is made from 100% cupra sheet which gives off almost a silk-like texture. Other noteworthy benefits of this sheet mask include elasticity, vitality, and recharging the skin of its needed vitamins.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Carrageenan, Glucomannan, Dextrin, Agar, Glycereth-26, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Niacinamide, Glycrrhiza Glabra (licorice) Root Extract, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Oleth-10, Triethoxycaprylyisilane, Polysorbate 60, Simethicone, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Aluminum Hydroxide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Xanthan Gum, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Sorbitan Isostearate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Disodium EDTA, Betaine, Allantoin, Panthenol, Potassium Chloride, Carbomer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, CI 42090, CI 17200, CI 42053, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

My review: Very soft! It is made with culpra so the physical sheet mask felt smoother and it really moisturize my skin.

Final Verdict: Total value is $28 compared to close to $20 you spent on this box, which means that if you’re looking for more bang for your buck, this is the better box to have. The sheet masks also contain fancier extracts, and although you can purchase both, if I had to pick one, I would pick this one.

Facetory also has a special one-off box with 3 sheet masks nicknamed the “Coconut Palette”. The name is pretty cute and it has the following from INSbyN or “In Science by Nature”:

INSbyN Deep Aqua System Mask

Facetory’s Review: INSbyN or “In Science by Nature” promises to channel all the nutrition and ingredients from nature to your skin for a healthy life! The key ingredient is their cultured coconut extract, a potent fermented coconut oil that is highly nourishing and strengthens the skin barrier. Other features include: highly recommended for sensitive skin, contains 0% alcohol, calms eczema, and uses both deep ocean water and phreatic water.

INSbyN Lovesome Pore System Mask

Facetory’s Review: This soft mask contains rose water and other botanical ingredients that treat your pores and acne. INSbyN also uses a new type of ingredient in this mask called cultured coconut extract which is fermented coconut oil that has gone through a special fermentation method which took 20 years in the making.

This fermentation process increases the nutrition level and moisturizing properties in coconut oil so you can get that flawless chok chok skin.

No ingredients were provided for the sheet make in the “Coconut Palette” which is a shame because I like listing the ingredients in case anybody has allergies. I did not try this box, so there is no associated review.

Did you had try any of these boxes or Facetory? Let us know what you think of Facetory in the comments!
