thefaultinourstars1 created this lovely makeup tutorial that we wanted to share! The three palettes used are the BH Cosmetics Take Me to Brazil palette, the Sleek Ultra Mattes V2 Darks palette, and the Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral shimmer palette, from first used to last<
The look I did two days ago
HOW TO GET THIS LOOK:
Swatches of the Sleek palette
The shadows are out of order, but I included swatches to show you why you need this palette–these swatches are over bare skin. Sooo smooth and pigmented. The only shadows that required dipping into the pan more than once for this opacity were the Pillow Talk (the white) and the nude shades Nude and Flesh (which are pigmented, but I’m pale)
Lay down the base
On primed eyelids, rub some Milk onto your finger and blend from your crease up to your browbone. I didn’t use primer because I am a savage and it was 1:30 AM. It was coming off when I finished anyway. Also, my eyebrows are nonexistent and my face makeup is shoddy/too pink (Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation in Ivory). Again, 1:30 AM.
Put down tape, then rub all over the lid.
I forgot tape until later, but you wanna put this down now because you don’t want color past what will be the straight edge from your tape. Also, be gentle with your lids–don’t tug or pull on them when you’re using the shadow.
Take the Take Me to Brazil Palette
Take a shader brush and pick up this green shade. This is literally the only time we use it maybe I should have emphasized the Sleek palette more in the title
Pack onto lids
Pat the shadow on to avoid fallout and make the color bolder. Really pack it on there. You want the color to be nice and bold.
Take the Sleek Ultra Matte V2 Darks Palette.
Using the same brush (cleaned), we’re going to pick up Turbo (teal).
Pack onto outer thirds of the lids.
No need to be neat on the outer edge, that tape will keep the shape nice and clean. Try not to go too far in, if you go in about half way it won’t open up your eyes as much.
Take Pillow Talk (white).
Again, I’m a savage. Couldn’t find my usual brush for brow bone stuff so I just made do and smeared it with my finger. Could’ve used my shader brush but I’m lazy.
Place from crease to brow bone.
Try not to get it in your crease, we don’t want to get blue/green in the white just yet.
Take your fluffy blending brush
My brushes are all Sonia Kashuk, by the way. I got them about a year ago and they’re not top notch, but they get the job done and haven’t completely fallen apart yet so they’ll do.
Pick up Ink (navy) with a pencil brush.
Might be my favorite matte shadow ever. Pretty pretty pretty.
Now for eyeliner.
I’m using an e.l.f. Angled Eyeliner brush and Wet ‘n’ Wild Mega Eyes gel eyeliner.
Take off the tape.
You can add lashes & mascara now if you like, or you can add extra drama and step that shit up.
Ink vs. Gel.
For some reason I left out the pictures for lining the lower waterline. My bad, guys. This is how they look compared to each other.
Pick up gold shadow.
This is the Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Shimmer palette. So soft, buttery, and pigmented. The reason I’m not allowing myself to buy any high-end neutral palettes.
